Author Guidelines

Before submitting your manuscript to Jurnal Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat Unisa Kuningan, please ensure that it aligns with our focus and scope and strictly adheres to the guidelines below. Manuscripts that do not comply with these instructions may be returned to the author at the initial screening stage.

1. General Requirements

  • The manuscript must be original, have never been published before, and is not currently under consideration for publication in another journal.

  • The manuscript must be written in Bahasa Indonesia or English, using clear, grammatically correct, and standard scientific language.

  • The text must be submitted in Microsoft Word format (.doc or .docx).

  • The length of the manuscript should be between 4,000 to 7,000 words (including abstract, tables, figures, and references).

2. Manuscript Structure

The article should be organized according to the IMRAD structure adapted for community service journals:

  • Title: Concise, informative, and precisely describes the community engagement activity. Maximum 15 words.

  • Author Names & Affiliations: Written in full without academic titles. Provide the complete institution address and the email address of the corresponding author.

  • Abstract: A single paragraph (150–250 words) written in both Bahasa Indonesia and English. It must concisely state the background/partner problems, the execution methods, the key results/impact of the activity, and the sustainability of the program.

  • Keywords: 3 to 5 words or phrases, separated by semicolons (;), reflecting the core focus of the activity.

  • Introduction (Pendahuluan): Clearly describes the situation, analysis, and specific problems faced by the partner community. It must state the urgency, goals, and the scientific solutions offered to address the partner's needs.

  • Methods (Metode Pelaksanaan): Explains how the community service activity was carried out. It includes the location, target audience/partners, stage of implementation (e.g., training, mentoring, technology transfer), and how the evaluation was conducted.

  • Results and Discussion (Hasil dan Pembahasan): Presents the detailed outcomes of the activity, backed by qualitative or quantitative data. Discuss the transformation or improvement before and after the program, the community's response, the obstacles encountered, and how those challenges were resolved.

  • Conclusion (Kesimpulan): Summarizes the main impact of the activity and provides recommendations or future actions for further community development or sustainability.

  • Acknowledgments (Ucapan Terima Kasih): Expresses gratitude to funding sources (e.g., specific internal university grants, ministries, or sponsors) and target partners who contributed to the program.

  • References (Daftar Pustaka): Must contain a minimum of 15 references, with at least 80% from primary sources (scientific journals/conference proceedings) published within the last 5 years.

3. Citation and Reference Style

  • Jurnal Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat Unisa Kuningan mandates the use of APA Style (7th Edition) for internal citations and the bibliography list.

  • Authors are strongly encouraged to use a reference manager tool such as Mendeley, Zotero, or EndNote to manage citations and bibliographies.

4. Figures and Tables

  • All figures (charts, maps, project photos) and tables must be numbered sequentially and cited clearly within the text (e.g., Table 1, Figure 2).

  • Figures must have a clear resolution, and tables must be in editable text format (not embedded images).

5. Plagiarism Policy

Every submitted paper will be screened using Turnitin software before entering the peer review process. The maximum allowable similarity index is 25%. Articles exceeding this threshold will be sent back to the authors for major revision or immediately rejected.
