Jurnal Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat Unisa Kuningan

1. Policy Statement

Jurnal Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat Unisa Kuningan, published by Universitas Islam Al-Ihya Kuningan, Indonesia, recognizes the importance of preserving scholarly publications to ensure their long-term availability, accessibility, and integrity.

The journal is committed to maintaining appropriate digital preservation practices to safeguard published articles and ensure that scholarly content remains accessible to readers, authors, researchers, and the wider academic community.

2. Digital Preservation

The journal's electronic content is managed through its Open Journal Systems (OJS) platform. The journal aims to maintain the availability of published articles, including their bibliographic information, abstracts, full-text files, and associated metadata.

Digital preservation practices may include:

  1. Maintaining published articles and their associated metadata within the journal's electronic publishing system.

  2. Conducting regular backups of journal content and relevant database information in accordance with the publisher's technical procedures.

  3. Maintaining the integrity of published files and bibliographic records.

  4. Preserving access to published articles and their persistent identifiers, including Digital Object Identifiers (DOIs), where registered.

  5. Taking appropriate measures to restore journal content in the event of technical failure or data loss.

The implementation of these practices depends on the technical infrastructure and preservation procedures maintained by the journal and its publisher.

3. Electronic Archiving and Long-Term Accessibility

The journal seeks to ensure the continued availability of its published content through appropriate electronic archiving and preservation arrangements.

Where available and formally implemented, the journal may use recognized digital preservation services or institutional repositories to support the long-term preservation of published articles.

Information about specific preservation systems, including LOCKSS (Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe), CLOCKSS (Controlled Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe), or other preservation networks, will be provided when the journal's participation has been confirmed.

4. Backup and Recovery

The journal and its publisher should maintain appropriate procedures for backing up and recovering electronic journal content.

Backup procedures should cover, where applicable, published article files, journal metadata, issue information, and relevant database records. Backup frequency, storage locations, access controls, and recovery procedures are determined by the technical arrangements established by the publisher or the journal's system administrator.

These measures are intended to reduce the risk of permanent data loss and support the continuity of journal operations.

5. Access to Archived Content

Published articles are made available through the journal's website in accordance with its Open Access Policy and applicable licensing terms.

The journal aims to maintain access to previously published issues and articles so that readers can consult, cite, and use scholarly content in accordance with the relevant license.

If the journal's primary website becomes temporarily unavailable, the publisher will make reasonable efforts to restore access to the journal's electronic content.

6. Responsibilities

The publisher and journal management are responsible for supporting the preservation and continued availability of published content through appropriate technical and administrative arrangements.

The journal management is responsible for maintaining accurate publication records and coordinating with relevant technical personnel or service providers when preservation or recovery issues arise.

7. Policy Review

This Electronic Archiving Policy will be reviewed periodically to ensure that it remains consistent with the journal's technical infrastructure, digital preservation arrangements, and publication practices.

Any significant changes to the journal's archiving arrangements will be reflected in the policy published on the journal's official website.
