TAJDID DAN PEMURNIAN ISLAM : UPAYA PEMBAHARUAN DAN PENJAGAAN KEMURNIAN AGAMA DALAM PENDIDIKAN ISLAM

Abstrak

This study examines the concepts of tajdīd (renewal) and purification (taṭhīr) of Islam within the context of Islamic education, serving as a crucial effort to restore religious teachings to the Qur’an and the Sunnah based on the understanding of the salaf al-ṣāliḥ. The research is motivated by the pervasive practices of bid‘ah (innovation in religion), superstition, syncretism, and the infiltration of external cultural and philosophical influences (secularism and liberalization) that have contributed to the decline of the Muslim community. Fundamentally, this decline stems from jahl (ignorance of religious knowledge), leading to wahn (the love of the world and fear of death). This qualitative library research employs a historical and descriptive-analytical approach, focusing specifically on the methodological framework of Tashfiyah wa Tarbiyah (Purification and Cultivation) championed by contemporary scholars. The findings reveal that tajdīd must be executed through comprehensive cleansing across the Ushul (foundational principles), including purifying Aqidah from theological ta’wil, Sunnah from weak and fabricated hadiths, Fiqh from blind taqlid and sectarian ta’ashub, and Tafsir from Isrā’iliyyāt narratives. The implementation of Tarbiyah (cultivation) in Islamic Religious Education (PAI) serves a dual purpose: strengthening aqidah and Qur’anic morality, and acting as an effective filter against the challenges of globalization, liberalization, and radicalism. The purification of Islam is affirmed as a fundamental educational strategy necessary for producing a Muslim generation that is knowledgeable, moderate, and steadfastly preserves the authenticity of Islamic teachings.
