This study aims to analyze the use of the game-based Dakota teaching aids in developing fifth-grade students’ understanding of the concepts of Greatest Common Factor (GCF) and Least Common Multiple (LCM). The study employs a descriptive qualitative approach with data collection techniques consisting of observation, interviews, and documentation. The research was conducted at SDN 2 Siluman, Tasikmalaya City. The data analysis techniques include data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results indicate that the use of game-based Dakota teaching aids effectively enhances students’ understanding in a more optimal, concrete, and enjoyable manner. Active student involvement, group interaction, learning motivation, and hands-on experience serve as key elements in the learning process. The teacher acts as a facilitator guiding the learning activities using the Dakota teaching aids. The learning steps were carried out systematically through teacher explanation, group game activities, discussions, and writing results on the board. The strengths of the Dakota teaching aids include clear visualization, high student engagement, and effectiveness in forming mathematical concepts. Meanwhile, the weaknesses lie in the durability of the materials, the relatively longer time required, and the need for supervision during the game. Thus, the game-based Dakota teaching aids can serve as an innovative alternative in elementary school mathematics learning.
